Potamiou
Overview
Potamiou, a village embraced by high mountains, vineyards and lush green vegetation, is located at an altitude of about 670 meters, on the west bank of the river Hapotami. It is part of the vineyards of the Limassol-Pafos geographical area, with vineyards of wine-making varieties and fruit plantations such as apple, pear, plum, golden apple and peach trees. The inhabitants, known for the production of fine wines, traditional delicacies such as 'soutziouko', 'palouze' and 'kiofterka', contribute to the culture of the area. The houses with tiled roofs, wooden windows and traditional beams create a charming picture in the picturesque neighbourhoods of Potamiou. The ancient chapel of Agios Mnasonas, with historical value, is worth mentioning and offers a glimpse into the history and religious heritage of the place.
