Overview
The chapel is located to the north of the village and to the left of the tourist road to Troodos, under a large bridge. It got its name Perachoritis, because the neighborhood there is called "Pera Geitonia" (Far Neighborhood) or "Pera Chorio" (Far Village). It was built in the 15th century (1520). Externally it is built of stone and seems to be of Byzantine rhythm. The interior is entirely frescoed. Its frescoes, however, have deteriorated over the years. Only two are preserved. One depicts St. Anastasia or Pharmakolytra (The Medicinal Healer) and the other St. Paraskevi. The small iconostasis is wooden, carved and gilded. The altar, has a colored decoration. It is a small chapel and can comfortably accommodate about 50 worshippers. It is lit on April 23 or Monday of Labri, when St. George is celebrated and the procession of his holy icon is held.
