Overview

It is situated on a large flat plot at the eastern edge of the densely populated core of Pelentri village. The Church of Archangel Michael is also located to the east of the Church of John the Lampadistis, allowing visitors to view the bell tower of each church from their respective courtyards. The church follows the design of a tripartite basilica with a central dome. The structure's frame is reinforced concrete, while the walls are made of brick. The roof consists of double-pitched roofs forming a cross shape, covered with concrete slabs overlaid with Byzantine-style clay tiles. At the intersection of the roof, a square base supports a large dome. The semi-spherical dome is constructed with reinforced concrete and covered in Byzantine-style clay tiles. The apse of the sanctuary is pentagonal, and its shell is also covered in Byzantine-style clay tiles. The church was constructed between 1970 and 1980 and was consecrated in 1983 by Metropolitan Chrysanthos.
