Overview

"Chlio": The word "chlio" comes from the phrase "Chlio nero" (=warm water), due to the fact that the sulphurous water that comes out of the place has a constant temperature, higher than the river water. "Chlio" was located a few meters below the "Baths of Rigaina". Moutoullas wives used to go to this place to wash their clothes. "Chlio" was transferred in the decade of 1940 in a place 150-200m below, with better access, where a concrete laundry (washing area) was built. Until the 1960s, the women of Moutoullas washed their clothes there, with their feet, beating them with the fauta.
