Overview

The traditional method for separating the fruits of cereals from their straw is threshing. This activity was carried out in places where the floor was fairly flat (either for natural or artificial reasons), known as threshing floors. In the past, this small hill had served as a threshing floor for the inhabitants of Kalliana. Obviously, due to the increasingly rapidly developing technology, the process of threshing through the use of animals is now a thing of the past. So the village, by adding a picnic bench to the site, has turned the area into a place where visitors and residents can have lunch or rest in the open air.
