Overview
In December 1985, the church of Panagia Moutoula was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites based on three criteria: 1. It is an important architectural monument that is kept in very good condition. 2.It is an excellent testimony of the Byzantine culture on the island. 3. Its murals include elements that demonstrate the relationship between Eastern and Western art.
