Pedoulas
Overview
The village of Pedoulas, under the shadow of the Troodos mountain range in the Marathasa Valley, is a true jewel of the Nicosia District. Pedoulas impresses with its extensive orchards, mainly with cherry trees, making it famous for the products produced from this fruit. The history of the village is reflected in the impressive Church of Archangel Michael of 1474, recognized as one of the most interesting Byzantine churches in Cyprus. Opposite it is the Byzantine Museum of Pedoulas, where amazing works of art from the neighbouring churches are kept. The Museum of Folk Art highlights the daily life of farmers and the customs of the past, while a natural spring in the village, which holds the secret of longevity, is another noteworthy destination. Visitors enjoy the spring's cool water as they pass through the village.
